PROVISIONAL COUNSELLOR CLINIC
Masters of Counselling – Provisional Counsellor Clinic
HeadwayHealth Services assist with the training of accredited counsellor undertaking Masters of Counselling post graduate studies at the School of Health Science, University of Canberra ACT.
Our group have grown to incorporate the services of accredited counsellors in recognition of the valuable and practical skills and services they bring to their work with clients facing a range of life’s challenges. We know connection with your clinician is a key part of your care, and being heard and validated is a fundamental starting point to working out how to adjust, to grieve and to live fully in all aspects of your wellbeing. Students are typically mature age and client feedback shows they typically value the relationship and maturity gained from the lived experiences gained across the life span. Students generally undertake advanced studies as they have a passion for helping others and desire to make a difference, and all will bring knowledge from academic studies on research on the latest up-to-date evidence-based training and interventions.
Students offer services at the Clinic as part of their practical clinical training and are closely supervised at HeadwayHealth by one or more qualified and experienced clinicians with professional qualifications in Counselling, Social Work or Psychology. All have a full Police Check and Working with Children Check prior to the start of their placement.
The clinic charges a reduced fee for services to assist with operation costs; Medicare rebates do not apply.
Please let us know if you would like to find out more and understand how this service can support you. Written consent is sought for all aspects of the service and care is provided in line with professional standards.
