Kym is a Registered Psychologist and brings a warm and authentic approach to her work and has a deep and abiding interest in helping and supporting people navigate challenges in their lives.
Kym enjoys and looks forward to her work and has a particular interest in anxiety and depression, as well as working alongside those navigating the experience of change, grief and loss across the lifespan. She seeks to understand each persons’ unique concerns, and provide care for patients, families and carers effected by uncertainty and the ‘shifting sands’ that often accompany living with chronic and debilitating illness.
Kym offers individually tailored skills and support derived from research-based therapeutic strategies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness.
Kym’s derives great personal reward through helping support others find a stable path with a restored sense of contentment and courage to navigate life’s challenges. Kym’s skills have been developed across her psychology degrees and training, as well as a varied and somewhat eclectic background that has encompassed acute and community-based nursing, corporate business, and market research, with medical specialists, allied health, business professionals and consumers alike.
Kym has witnessed first-hand the value of psychological support and the transformative change that this can bring to people’s lives, and as a clinician who has developed her practice in mature age, is deeply committed to her work. Kym balances her work by spending time with family, friends, keeping active and bushwalking.
Kym is registered with AHPRA and Medicare and is an associate member of the Australian Psychological Society and the Psycho-oncology Co-operative Research Group.
